How to Space Chrome Letters Without Inventing a New Alphabet
Straight baselines, balanced spacing and one very useful strip of masking tape.
Spell the entire word on a table first. Measure its overall width, find the center, and mark the center of the installation area. A horizontal strip of painter's tape makes an excellent temporary baseline. Start near the center of the word and work outward so accumulated spacing errors do not shove the last letter into another ZIP code. Judge optical spacing, not just ruler spacing: narrow letters such as I naturally need different visual breathing room than wide letters such as M or W. Step back frequently before pressing each character permanently.
