Bubbles, Wrinkles & Crooked Decals: The Rescue Guide

← Resource Center

What to do when your decal develops a personality of its own.

Most application trouble starts with dirt, rushed positioning or trying to lay too much adhesive down at once. Stop as soon as a wrinkle begins instead of pressing it permanently into place. If the vinyl has not bonded aggressively, gently lift back to the trouble spot and re-squeegee. Work from the center toward an open edge so trapped air has somewhere to escape. Tiny bubbles often become less noticeable as the adhesive settles. The best rescue technique is prevention: measure twice, use temporary alignment marks and apply in controlled sections.

Pinky's rule: clean surfaces, careful measuring and a little patience beat fixing a rushed installation later.
